A severe cyclonic storm named Michaung hit India’s eastern coast on Tuesday, causing widespread damage and casualties in several states. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed 29 teams to carry out relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. (PTI Photo)2/10

The cyclone made landfall near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh around 12:30 pm on Tuesday, with wind speeds of up to 120 kmph.The cyclone brought heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds to Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Puducherry. (PTI Photo)
