The Vivo V25 Pro will have some big shoes to fill. The V23 Pro that it is replacing was a fantastic all-rounder with a beautiful design, dependable performance, class leading Vlogging prowess and outstanding battery life. But if its spec-sheet is anything to go by, we might as well be looking at another winner. We’re testing the Vivo V25 Pro at length and while we work on our full review, here’s a quick hands-on and first impressions of Vivo’s latest. (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)2/8
The Vivo V25 Pro comes in a choice of two colourways, blue and black. The blue version, that Vivo is calling Sailing Blue, features Fluorite AG glass on the back that’s able to change colours when exposed to any UV light source, similar to the V23 and V23 Pro phones. Vivo sent us this version and we can say only one thing, it’s as stunning to look at, if not more. It’s very premium, very eye-catching. The phone is built well, too. Like the V23 Pro, the V25 Pro also has a curved display but Vivo has bumped up the refresh rate to 120Hz. The V23 Pro topped out at 90Hz. Not that the V23 Pro was slow, but definitely the V25 Pro feels slicker. More specifically, the V25 Pro has a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution. There is a single hole punch cutout at the centre of this phone which is to say it has a single selfie camera. This is 32MP and it has autofocus. The V23 Pro, in comparison, came with dual selfie shooters inside a wide notch. (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
4/8Under the hood, the V25 Pro has a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 processor, same as the OnePlus Nord 2T. The V23 Pro came with the Dimensity 1200. You get up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. Performance has been good so far, but more on this in our full review. (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
5/8Software-wise, you get Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12. (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
6/8On to the cameras, the V25 Pro has three on the back, a 64MP main sensor with optical image stabilisation, 8MP ultrawide, and another 2MP macro. The V23 Pro, to recall, came with an 108MP main sensor. (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
7/8The V25 Pro gets you a bigger battery and faster charging. This is 4830mAh (versus 4,300mAh in the V23 Pro) and 66W (versus 44W in the V23 Pro). (Photo credit: Saurabh Singh/Financial Express)
8/8The Vivo V25 Pro price in India starts at Rs 35,999 for a version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will set you back by Rs 39,999. For those keeping track, the V25 Pro is actually launching at a lower price than the V23 Pro and considering all the updates, it is bringing in a lot more value.
