Hours after unveiling the first look of the China-exclusive OnePlus Ace 3, OnePlus has revealed the colour options of the India-bound OnePlus 12R model too. For those wondering, the Ace 3 and 12R are same phones with different names. The former will be sold only in China (and presumably launch earlier). The latter in global markets, India included with launch pegged for January 23, 2024. The OnePlus Ace 3’s hero colour is called Mingsha Gold but it seems the 12R will skip that for a relatively more run-of-the-mill Cool Blue and Iron Gray shades.
OnePlus has shared some nuggets around design to build hype ahead of its “Smooth Beyond Belief” launch event on January 23. The 12R looks a lot like the OnePlus 12 which is to say that it does not look very different from the OnePlus 11R. The changes will have more to do with subtle refinements and polish, much in the same way as the 12. Like the 12, the 12R also has the alert slider on the left side to improve antenna performance to seemingly unleash “enhanced performance during online gaming sessions.”
OnePlus has previously confirmed that the Ace 3/12R will feature a 1.5K resolution X1 (Oriental) screen sourced from BOE, presumably curved. Leaks suggest the phone would come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip and a 5,500mAh battery with 100W fast charging support. For photography, the OnePlus Ace 3 is tipped to get a triple camera setup on the rear headlined by a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 sensor paired to another 8-megapixel ultrawide and 2-megapixel macro.
