Good news! Namibian Cheetah Aasha welcomes three cubs at Kuno National Park

Namibian cheetah Aasha has given birth to three cubs at Kuno National Park (KNP) in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav announced on Wednesday.

He referred to the new arrivals as “a roaring success for Project Cheetah, envisioned by PM Narendra Modi to restore ecological balance”.

In March 2023, another cheetah named Siyaya, later renamed Jwala, had given birth to four cubs after being translocated to KNP from Namibia. However, only one of the cubs survived. The recent birth of three cubs to Aasha marks another step in the ongoing conservation efforts.
