Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, December 22, inaugurated several development projects and laid the foundation stone of few more in Chandigarh. Joining him on the occasion were several dignitaries including the Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Banwarilal Purohit and the Union Home Secretary. The programme was held at the Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology.How many projects were inaugurated?
The Home Minister inaugurated nine projects worth Rs 368 crore and laid the foundation stone of three projects worth Rs 32 crore. Talking about the projects, Shah said that the projects are related to cleanliness, education, security, residential facilities and higher education.
In his address at the CCET, Shah said that in his youth he thought of Chandigarh as a fully developed city with a modern outlook.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Shah said that the Cyber Operation and Security Centre was inaugurated on Friday. “Additionally, the administrative building and workshop block of the Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology and 192 residential quarters for Chandigarh Police were also inaugurated. Also unveiled and laid the foundation of many other schemes. Distributed appointment letters among 44 newly selected Assistant Sub-Inspectors and 700 constables,” he posted.
