Domestic equity markets snapped their gaining streak on Wednesday to end with losses. S&P BSE Sensex slid 109 points or 0.20% to settle at 54,208 while the NSE Nifty 50 index was down 19 points or 0.12% to end the day at 16,240. Bank Nifty ended 0.40% lower while India VIX fell close to 2%. The downward move could accelerate today on the weekly futures & options expiry session as global cues and SGX Nifty suggest a weak opening.
