The Indian government will test artificial intelligence (AI) in creating climate models to forecast severe weather conditions, stated Cointelegraph.
With insights from Reuters, K.S. Hosalikar, head, climate research and services, India Meteorological Department (IMD), mentioned that he expects AI-based climate models and advisories to help improve forecasting. This is believed to be used for severe weather conditions like floods and droughts.
Furthermore, the government has already set up a center to test the idea of incorporating AI into traditional weather forecasting and plans for workshops and conferences, Cointelegraph concluded.
