Asserting the imperativeness of seamless connectivity, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday directed officials to start helicopter services at ecotourism destinations and called for creating a new cadre of veterinarians dedicated to serving wild animals.
Addressing a meeting of the Uttar Pradesh State Wildlife Board, Adityanath said, “There should be helicopter services and four-lane road connectivity to ensure seamless transportation at ecotourism places such as Dudhwa National Park, Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary and Chuka of the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve.”CM Yogi further said that special emphasis should be placed on fostering a tourism-friendly environment by training and employing local individuals as guides at these key tourist locations. “Additionally, efforts should be made to establish quality accommodation arrangements for tourists,” he said.
Earlier this week, the UP CM inaugurated the state’s first intra-district helicopter service from Bateshwar in Agra to Goverdhan in Mathura. The services are based on the private-public partnership (PPP), which a private player will run from Uttrakhand. A helicopter service covers a distance of 65 km between Agra city and Mathura.
“The chief minister inaugurated the first helicopter service today, marking the beginning of the helicopter service from one district to another in the state,” said Avinash Chandra Mishra, Joint Director of the Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department.
Further, UP CM also laid the foundation stone of projects worth ₹100 crore, which are aimed at bringing new life to Bateshwar, a historical village located amid the ravines of Chambal across the borders of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
